This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Exposing the culture gap between the United States and the rest of the world, Chris Plutte, co-founder and executive director of Global Nomads Group, shares how we can leverage technology to allow every young person a meaningful cross cultural exchange during their education, bridging the culture gap and preparing a 21st century workforce where working with people who are different then you is the norm.
Skilled and experienced in international development work, Chris Plutte is a proven entrepreneurial and multi-faceted leader with more than 15 years of experience in the fields of NGO management and growth, education, media development and conflict resolution. He co-founded the award winning Global Nomads Group (GNG), in 1998, and led the organization for more than a decade. Prior to rejoining GNG in 2010, opened and directed all of Search for Common Ground’s (SFCG) programs in Rwanda, and was SFCG’s Chief of Party on several major initiatives for the Great Lakes region (DRC, Burundi & Rwanda).
