Kiran Kedlaya - Representations of products of Galois groups

I will first recall the role that representations of self-products of the fundamental group of a curve over a finite field play in the geometric construction of the Langlands correspondence via moduli of shtukas. I will then describe how the key lemma of Drinfeld on such representations transfers to perfectoid spaces, and what consequences this has (and may continue to have) on the p-adic Langlands correspondence; this includes joint work with Annie Carter and Gergely Zabradi.
