The economic crisis triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic prompted governments to issue several relief mechanisms to hold up companies and workers. 

In this paper, published in the journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Bruno Buchetti, Antonio Parbonetti and Amedeo Pugliese, from the Department of Economics and Management of the University of Padova, analyze how accounting information and regulation can support policymakers in the wake of a systemic crisis.
